Ty Nant II

Planning approval for new dwelling on densely wooded site in Derwen Fawr.

Ty Nant II developed in response to a steeply sloping site, heavily populated with trees and shrubs, and views to Swansea Bay.

The house is split over three levels, with living accommodation cantilevering over a partially submerged garage and entry level to evoke a contemporary treehouse. Terraces step alongside the house with the existing landscape, providing breakout spaces from the open interior. Indigenous materials and planting further accentuate the building’s relationship with its semi-rural context.
