We are delighted that planning application for the redevelopment of Mumbles Pier and Headland were submitted last week.

The ambition for the site is to rejuvenate an established, historical attraction through high quality architecture and public realm to create an enhanced and unique cultural/leisure destination for the benefit of both tourists and locals.

The proposal is to redevelop this key location as an improved and sustainable visitor destination. The underlying theme is the restoration of the Pier, a grade II listed building, refurbishment works for which have already been approved and are due to commence during the summer of 2018.

The development will include, hotel and visitor accommodation, expanded retail and café/dining facilities as well as a new function suite for weddings and events. The foreshore will be developed to provide 26 new apartments with improved parking and extended public realm providing the opportunity for outdoor arts and performance events.
