Cyfarthfa Castle

A competitive tender submission for major refurbishment and extension of Cyfarthfa Castle, a Grade I listed 19th Century folly on the edge of the Brecon Beacons.

Key proposals included careful removal of poorly resolved later additions to the castle and subtly enclosing external courtyards to create glazed atriums, providing the castle with additional space for a Visitor Centre, Museum, Gallery, Function Venue and community and enterprise facilities.

The project was shortlisted and came second place, achieving perfect scores at interview stage.
